Jasmexico: Our Story

I am Jasmexico, born in April 2020 when founder Jasmine Chen—a sustainable textile designer—transformed her awe for Oaxaca’s weaving traditions into a rebellion against fast fashion. Our handcrafted hats blend ancestral Mexican techniques with contemporary design, creating timeless pieces like Panama hats, fedoras, and reversible buckets. As a premium sustainable brand, we reach conscious Americans through online channels and 35 boutiques from California to Texas. Every stitch tells a story: working with 5 artisan cooperatives, we use 100% biodegradable agave fibers while directing 15% of profits to empower indigenous youth through weaving workshops.

Our evolution has been shaped by pivotal moments: a 2021 feature in Vogue Accessories that sold us out in 72 hours; a 2022 shift to direct-to-consumer e-commerce tripling our growth; and our 2023 Los Angeles pop-up where we unveiled embroidered collaborations with artist Frida Torres. By 2028, we vow to cultivate 200 new artisans, achieve full carbon neutrality, and extend our ethos across 10 U.S. states and Canada—proving heritage craftsmanship belongs in every conscious wardrobe.
